A plain reading

Gold Hill is a mostly owner-occupied small city with a median age near 37 and a median home value above $300,000. The household income median of about $56,000 is modest next to those home values.

Treat every survey figure here as approximate. With about 570 households the survey sample is small. The margin of error on households is about 19 percent, and the owner-home value brackets are noisy: several carry a margin as large as the estimate. Use the certified estimate for the city's size and the survey for rough shape only.

How we got these numbers

  • Households, tenure, income, home value, age and home-value brackets are from the Census Bureau's American Community Survey (ACS) 5-year estimates for 2020-2024, tables B01003, B11001, B25003, B19013, B25077, B01002 and B25075, read through Census Reporter for Gold Hill city (Census place 4129950). Margins of error are the ones Census Reporter reports. The $300,000-plus count adds the seven top home-value brackets of B25075.
  • The 2020 population is from the 2020 Census, read from Census TIGERweb (place layer, field POP100).
  • The 2025 population is the certified estimate from Portland State University's Population Research Center for July 1, 2025, as reported by the Oregon Employment Department.
  • We did not pull Census business counts for this city.
